Working with Julane Lund at the 2006 Northeast Dulcimer Symposium was one of the best teaching experiences I've ever had. We team-taught a small fiddle class, and in the process engaged in a dialog about fiddling, it's traditions, culture, the nature of collecting tunes... the topics just go on and on. I would recommend Julane most highly to anyone interested in learning about the Norwegian American Old Time Fiddling tradition, as well as about Norwegian fidding, the Hardanger tradition, and just fiddling in general. Julane is a gem - a kind, generous teacher and a terrific fiddler as well. I hope I have the opportunity to work with her many times in the years to come.
