The following are photos taken at the "Looking Back" CD release concert in Decorah, Iowa on November 4th, 2006. The concert was held at Bethania Church, which is a Norwegian immigrant church that is now the property of the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum.

Three of the members of the band "Foot-Notes" accompanied Julane during the concert, and they are seen in this photo (The fourth member of Foot-Notes, Jim Skurdall, took all of these pictures. Thanks Jim!) From left to right: Beth Hoven Rotto plays chords on fiddle as Julane plays the melody. Jon Rotto accompanies on guitar, and Bill Musser plays bass.

The same musicians but this time Beth is playing pump organ. As can be seen, there were many eager listeners in the audience!

Julane plays the tune "Farewell Whiskey" (with pizzicato parts) as Jon Rotto plucks along on jaw harp. Bill Musser smiles with approval!

LeRoy Larson strums the tenor banjo, as Julane and Bill play LeRoy's composition, "Waltz for Craig." This waltz, with its slow, ragtime elements, is very moving. It was composed in memory of LeRoy's friend, the fiddler Craig Ruble. This melody of LeRoy's got thunderous applause from the crowd!

The whole group plays together for our final number, "50/50 Polka." This lively tune also got a great response from the audience, who wanted an encore! The musicians did the encore at the Vesterheim museum lobby after the concert. What an enthusiastic, large audience! It couldn't have been a more successful CD release concert!
The following pictures were taken during Julane's tour of Quebec in October of 2006

Julane performed with members of the Quebecois group "Cordaphone" for CKIA radio in Quebec City. The group performed and were interviewed for the hour long world music program called "Giramundo." Pictured from left to right are: Gaetan Racine (guitar), Alf Bashore (dulcimer player and guest musician from Pennsylvania), Pascalo Vallieres (radio show host), Julane (Hardanger fiddle), Sylvain Lacroix (banjo dulcimer), and Claude Nadeau (flute).

Julane, Sylvain, and Alf in Quebec City. Sylvain is not only a wonderful musician, but a great tour guide of Quebec as well!

Julane snaps a shot of members of Cordophone as they wait for a sound check on stage in Montreal. Can you tell that these guys are ready to play some foot-stomping, traditionial Quebecois music? From left to right: Norman, Sylvain, Claude, and Gaetan.

These photos were taken at the Northeast Dulcimer Symposium held at Blue Mountain Lake, New York in June of 2006.
